Love is the morning star

Based on a novel by Umera Ahmed, I find this serial better than the most, looks like good acting from the cute Sanam. The promo adds looked very appealing and had a light side to it. One should keep in mind while watching these serials what characters they do not want to be. Your environment quickly takes over you, same as what you read and what you watch on television.

To me the serial looks something similar to Cinderella...at this point in time, the evil cousins constantly making Romaisa work like a servant or maid. Even they talked like Cinderella's sisters. The quality is good of production and background. I guess the viewers are looking forward to the entry of her knight in shining armour ....where the happy part comes in. I am...at least.

Her typical aunt is calling her a bad omen and hence not ready to marry her to her own son abroad. Sanam's good acting has been stamped right from her first episode as an innocent person and unable to speak up for what she wants as she has been constantly suppressed.

If this serial is translated in English I am sure it'll gain world wide praise.

Unbelievable ! after the funeral selfies ... talk about dumbing down the funeral .. poor Mendela's legacy in tatters ...

"There was zero percent accuracy. He couldn't even get the basics right. He couldn't even say thank you,"Delphin Hlungwane, a South African sign language interpreter at DeafSA, told Reuters. DeafSA has condemned the incident.

Sak Awards Mother-in-laws - horror tales of HUM TV

It is extremely hilarious how HUM TV constantly thinks that Mother-in-laws are the horror in everybody's lives. I have so far seen FOUR dramas of this channel that have shown dreadful Saasu Maas (mother-inlaws)

"Khoya khoya chaand" where 1st first the mother forces her pretty boy to marry his wife's sister .....since his wife died during child birth and evidently his wife's sister loves the newborn baby dearly. After his second marriage due to a misunderstanding the second wife takes the baby and runs away from home.

Seriously instead of trying to understand the motives why she did that, this particular mother-in-law tells the girl's family that we only want our grandchild back and rest their daughter should never come back to her husband. One wonders who the hell is she to dictate the decent guy trying to live happily with his first love.

Yes there is a twist here, before he met his first wife, he was actually in love with his second wife not knowing they are sisters!!!

2nd Second award  goes to "Aseerzadi" mother-in-law totally after the second wife so that she can marry off her beloved niece to her son for the third time!!

3rd Third award goes to mother-in-law "Halki so khalish" where the husband seems to be silently bearing the money hungry wife, but his mother instead of talking sense into the girl is forcing his son to get married and have a second wife.

4th Fourth award goes to the victim cum avenger mother-in-law of "Kankar" where this particular mother-in-law has no issues when her son gets divorced for the first time due to domestic violence and is happily marrying him to her niece. When he does the same thing to his second wife he is seen giving him a lecture and the son rightly pointing out "you should have given me this lecture when i was doing it with my first wife...."

I wonder why HUM TV thinks that by showing negative female characters they can change this dying society for a better life. As before positive female roles are a dire need. As only women can bring this change and first we women need to CHANGE ourselves.

Aseerzadi ( female slave)

An interesting jingle, the song makes you think of villages and a woman bound by the chains of society.

The very cute young couple is a good selection and one does wonder about the statement "couples are made in heaven" sort of a thing. The story seems part of our rural culture, again men misusing their superiority to fulfill their desire of having multiple wives.

It cannot be far from the truth, since what is happening in our urban culture is nothing to be proud of. Again females need to stop manipulating in order to achieve their personal goals and stop being so ambitious to gain the control of the entire household.

I'd say the part where all these women gain control after years of being behind the curtains, is a good one. One cannot imagine why the women were all wearing white? since they were not even widows.

I would recommend HUM TV to focus on making positive impact on the culture. Show programs and dramas where women are respected and loved. It is much needed. This channel does not realize that women may copy what their dramas are showing.

A positive change is much desired and can only be achieved with the help of HUM TV showing a better side of women and happy homes.

Don't take me for granted ...

Dear Friends

I read this wonderful article on MSN today, in which some points I'd like to share with you all.

Relationship expert and author Pat Allen speaks about how in relationships we can either Accept, Reject, or Tolerate (which she does not suggest).

How To Get Your Man To Change… Or Attract A Better One!

Reclaim Your Power. When we try to change someone else, it may seem like we are in control, but we are most definitely are not. Rather, we are giving away our energy, power and sense or self by focusing it so intensely on someone else.

To take back our energy, we must focus on the things that make us better and the things that matter to us.

For example, if working out or eating well makes you feel well physically and mentally, instead of berating your man for eating fast food, focus on boosting your own workout routine or by implementing more fruits and veggies into your own diet.

It’s all about leading by example.

Dilemma of divorced women in Pakistan

The drama "Kankar" coming on Hum TV seems to be defying the so-called male superior culture of Pakistan. It is good to see that finally media is showing "Women's stand against Violence". The young lead role played as "Kiran" fully depicts the difficult questions and situations faced by a female who stood up against violence. Again the women need to change. The gossiping women, the free and farigh women need to engage themselves in healthy activities other than the regular chores, so that they don't have time to laze around and wonder what is happening in other people's lives.

The drama boldly shows how the son , the lead male role, tells his father "All my life I have seen you abuse and hit my mother, that's what I've learnt!!!" The so called educated men trying to discipline their sons is a great example of the hypocritical male standards.

From this line many males must have been strengthened into thinking that yes women should tolerate physical violence. Kiran is again shown facing the same dilemma with her second husband, this time she is scared to take a stand and willing to bear it. On the other hand her ex-husband is again beating his second wife, her child snatched and gone to her parents place.

Little do men realize that our prophet Hazrat Muhammad was a ideal personality to be followed. The love, support, patience and tolerance he has displayed for his wives is phenomenal. During the life of his first wife Hazrat Khadija a.s. he did not marry anyone. Martin Ling wrote Hazrat "Muhammad" (s.a.w.w.)from the early sources.
